Composite chips repair

Description: Composite chips repair

Project location: London. This gallery documents chip repair on light-coloured composite or engineered-stone surfaces, including an edge beside a sink and a white basin. Close-up photographs show the damaged areas, the repair in progress and the surface after attention.

Assessing a chipped edge

A repair starts by checking the size and position of the chip, the colour and pattern of the surrounding surface, and whether the edge needs rebuilding. The repair material is selected and shaped to follow the existing profile. A colour match can reduce how visible the damage is, but a completely invisible result cannot be guaranteed, especially on patterned or translucent surfaces.

Worktop edges and corners are particularly noticeable because they catch the light. The photographs here show the white surface and nearby fittings so visitors can see the repair in context as well as in close-up. The precise method depends on the material and the extent of the damage.

For an assessment, send one photograph of the whole worktop or basin and another close-up with a size reference. If the manufacturer and colour are known, include those details too.
