Surface: Limestone staircase

Services: Restoration and preservation of a limestone staircase

Location: Fortnum & Mason

Description:

The job involved the cleaning and restoration of a limestone staircase. The cleaning process was comprehensive, aimed at removing any dirt, stains, and accumulated debris from the surface of the stairs.

Following this, restoration work was carried out to repair any damages or wear present on the staircase. This was done with careful attention to preserve the original characteristics of the limestone.

Once the restoration was complete, the staircase was sealed with an impregnator sealant. This sealant works to protect the limestone from future damage without altering the appearance or texture of the stone. It provides a long-lasting protective layer that helps to maintain the integrity of the staircase.

In addition to the cleaning and sealing, the job also included the replacement of the grout and silicone in the perimeter area. This was done to ensure that the staircase was not only aesthetically pleasing but also structurally sound and protected against moisture.
