Stone floor chip and crack repair

A chipped edge, cracked tile or damaged terrazzo patch can draw attention to an otherwise sound floor. Stone Rescue assesses the stone or man-made surface, the size and location of the damage, and the finish before recommending a local repair or a wider restoration. A stone floor chip repair may involve cleaning and preparing the damaged area, a suitable filling material and finishing to blend with the surrounding surface; the method depends on the material.

What we assess before a floor repair

• Whether the floor is marble, limestone, granite, terrazzo or a man-made surface.
• The size, depth and cause of the chip or crack, including any movement beneath it.
• Colour, pattern and finish matching, plus what a visible repair can realistically achieve.
• Whether cleaning, honing or polishing is needed around the repaired area.

A structural or moving crack may need another specialist assessment before cosmetic work. We will explain the proposed scope and limitations rather than promise an invisible result for every surface.
