Restore man-made floor
The restore man-made floor process and the polishing process usually is accomplished using super-fine abrasive powders polishing. Also, can be achieved with super-fine diamond abrasive discs or polishing pads.
The process is suitable for marble, terrazzo, granite floor restoration.
During polishing, we remove a microscopic layer from the surface of your floor. This can only be achieved by using a series of different grade diamond grits, used in the correct order.
Only a qualified craftsperson with experience in polishing should carry out this process – incorrect methods and processes can completely ruin your marble or natural stone floor.
Assessment before floor restoration
Restoring a worn floor starts with identifying the material, the existing finish and the type of damage. The phrase “man-made floor” covers different surfaces, and a process suitable for terrazzo may not be suitable for every composite or ceramic tile. We assess scratches, lippage, staining and previous treatments to decide whether cleaning, local repairs, grinding or polishing is appropriate.
Grinding and polishing
Where the material permits it, a controlled sequence of diamond abrasives can remove surface wear and refine the finish. Each stage prepares the floor for the next, so the final appearance depends on the stone or composite, the starting condition and the finish selected. Cracks and damaged joints may need separate repair before the wider floor is polished. Protection can then be considered based on the material and how the area is used.
