Bathroom area restoration
Description:
This Canary Wharf bathroom project covered both wall and floor stone. The stated wall work included removing limescale and old plastic hooks, then applying a colour-intensifying sealer and solvent-based wax. The floor was cleaned, polished and sealed to a silky appearance. The photographs show the bathroom surfaces around the fixtures and the visible finish.
Wall deposits, adhesive residue from hooks and wear on a floor are different problems, so they should be treated separately. Limescale removal must suit the stone, since acidic descalers can etch marble and other calcareous materials. A sealer or wax can affect appearance and maintenance but cannot solve water ingress or make the stone immune to acidic products. The page documents this bathroom assignment. For similar work, check the material, grout, ventilation and source of moisture before choosing treatments.
