Black ceramic restoration
Description:
This Stratford project concerns the restoration of black ceramic tiles. The photographs cover several stages labelled cleaning, treatment and sealing, giving a more useful record of the work than a single finished image. Dark tiles can show residues and uneven sheen clearly, especially where earlier cleaning has left a film or the grout holds soil.
The work was aimed at improving the surface appearance and making the tiled area easier to maintain. Cleaning addresses deposits on the tile and joints; any seal or protective treatment needs to be chosen for the actual ceramic and grout rather than assumed from colour alone. The gallery shows this job’s visible condition and results. It does not establish a particular coating specification, slip rating or guaranteed lifespan. For a comparable floor, the existing finish and any previous treatments should be checked before choosing a method.
