We have successfully completed the full terrazzo floor restoration at SOAS University as follows:
All damaged and deteriorated joints throughout the terrazzo floor were carefully removed and replaced with new, colour-matched epoxy jointing compound to ensure long-term durability and a seamless appearance.
Existing cracks within the terrazzo surface were repaired using high-quality, colour-matched polyester resin. The resin was expertly applied and cured to restore structural integrity while maintaining the original aesthetic of the floor.
The entire floor area was then restored through a controlled multi-stage grinding process using progressively finer diamond tooling, followed by detailed polishing to achieve a consistent, elegant satin finish across the whole surface.
To complete the project and ensure full compliance with current UK health and safety flooring regulations, three coats of premium non-slip sealant were applied. This specialist sealant provides a durable, low-maintenance protective layer while delivering a Pendulum Test Value (PTV) of 36+ in wet conditions, meeting and exceeding the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) recommendations for slip resistance in commercial environments.
The restored terrazzo floor now presents a uniform, high-quality appearance with enhanced safety performance and is ready for immediate use.
