Terrazzo tiles restoration

Description:

This London project gallery shows textured terrazzo tiles across four photographs. The page records a restoration of the tiled surface, with the images providing the main evidence of its appearance. Terrazzo combines aggregate and a binder; the condition of both the tile faces and their joints influences how a floor can be cleaned or refinished.

Texture also matters. A treatment that changes the surface too aggressively could alter the character of these tiles, so the intended appearance should be agreed after examining the floor. The original project notes do not identify the aggregate, binder, machine sequence or protective product. The gallery is therefore best used to view this example, not as a specification for a different terrazzo installation. Photographs showing the full area, the joints and any worn spots would help assess a similar project.
